4 Leggeds Rules

I know, it's hard for some of us to admit (like Cobby). But let's just be honest. When the 4 legged's out number the 2 legged's, they are the boss. Cobby will still argue that he is the boss, but we all know...he is far (even farther than the 4 x 4 legged's) down the line. Just ask Carli.

A couple of examples are:
1) When they are hungry, they cry...we feed them.
2) Before we leave, we make sure they are usually outside, unless it is too cold/wet and we won't be gone too long, they get to stay inside.
3)If they want loves...they will go from person to person to get them.
4)We know that when we start up the vacuum and head into the bedroom you should expect a black streak across the floor, it is common house etiquette to holler "watch your feet!" in an attempt to protect the tops of the feet belonging to the 2 legged's.

The stories of our animals are never ending. But, today we will talk about 2 weeks ago when we doggy sat for a new friend - Teil. Why does this dog stick out? Well, she's a she of course. That's right. For one brief weekend Carli and I were almost even in regards to hormonal balance.

Rules when there is a new presence:
1) Sniff each other endlessly. To make sure there is nothing rotten..if there is something rotten - Keep sniffing.
2) Make sure the new guy/gal knows who is the boss. Which means
a)Cedar will go lay down...cause he don't give a shit.
b)Dallas will lift a lip and snarl a bit, if necessary make a charge. If newcomer has the toy, growl just a little bit and charge with lip lifted.

It is important to note that Teil was a great guest at our house. I think she is a little scared of our wood floor. It has happened before with other dogs. For most of the time she would stay in the kitchen and every now and then walk to the end of the hall to make sure we didn't forget about her. We would call her and spend the next half hour laughing as she would walk part way down the hall...pause...circle around...go back to the kitchen. She did eat the cat food. But we were warned about that and although we kept forgetting to shut the door where the cat food is, I finally got smart and started to only put a little bit of cat food in the bowl (that showed her - HA!). She is a cute pup and LOVES TO BE LOVED. Some of the funny things about her visit is that her last night here, when Dallas got in her face...she snapped at him and that sent him running for his bed. We always love to see someone put him in his place. It's good fun. But then when Theresa and Jeff came to get her, we all went out to the truck and my dogs jumped in the back of the truck. I'm pretty sure they thought they were going camping. We are all itching a little for that, it is the time of year for camping (alright, we wish). But it was hilarious when Teil went into her kennel and our dogs did too. As a matter of fact, 3 dogs in 2 kennels means someone is shackin' up. Guess who it was...that's right, tough guy moved in on Teil. Trying to get the right dog in the kennel was the kind of fun Jeff was looking forward to all weekend (I mean really, how much fun is Vegas when your haulin around your prego ball and chain?).

Thanks Red and Jeff for letting us take care of your soon to be forgotten bundle of love. ;)

She won't be forgotten. She is too much in our faces to let us forget her. Thanks again for watching her! I know she had fun!
